Block plane with wood shavings

WoodworkDetails is your new resource for tools, tips, techniques, and a wealth of information about wood, and all the things you can do with it.

Of course our blog is sure to please with its mix of news and reviews.

A new feature has been added to the website: Woodworking events will list woodworking events that you can attend. Some are general trade shows, some are woodworking competitions, but all are sure to please.

Our goal is to inspire you to greatness through education. Start by learning the fundamentals of woodworking design, and see your project through to the finishing step. You'll be amazed at how much inspiration can be generated by a little bit of information.

And whether you are an seasoned woodworker or a novice just starting out, you may find the tools section a valuable resource for both purchasing and maintaining the vital tools of our woodworking trade.

If you ever decide to design a woodworking project of your own, doubtless you will require the use of one or more joints. Our collection of information on woodworking joints is sure to enlighten, and perhaps help you find a superior joint for your intended use.

And for those who would like to know a little more about the woods that are available to woodworkers like yourselves, there is the wood encyclopedia. Topics covered include the grading and sizing, an explanation of wood movement, and also detailed information on virtually every species of wood available in North America, including many imported species!

This site is quickly being built from the ground up, and like most projects some constructive criticism is always appreciated. Please do leave us your comments and suggestions.
